About Oloip
“Oloip” means “togetherness” in the Maa language, and that’s exactly what our safaris are all about. They’re about coming together to explore Kenya’s incredible landscapes, connect with people, and make a real difference in our communities.
Our trips are a unique mix of wildlife, culture, and community. You’ll go on game drives across the Maasai Mara, our home, and other stunning parks, spotting Africa’s most iconic animals in their natural habitats. But your journey doesn’t stop there. You’ll also immerse yourself in Maasai culture, visiting villages, learning traditions, and hearing stories that have been passed down through generations.
And every safari with us supports the people who call the Mara home. A portion of every booking goes directly to community projects in our community, from education and healthcare to environmental conservation and women empowerment. You’ll even get the chance to visit some of these projects yourself, seeing firsthand how tourism can create meaningful, positive change.
With Oloip, your adventure is more than just a safari. It’s a journey through wildlife, culture, and community, guided by locals who know this land as home and are proud to share it with you.
Meet the team
Oloip Masai Adventure Safaris started with two best friends who wanted to bring their passions together: a love for Kenya’s wildlife and a commitment to supporting their community. They realized that a safari could be more than just an adventure; it could be a way to share the beauty of the land, celebrate Maasai culture, and give back to the people who call the Mara home. That idea became Oloip, a locally-owned company where every trip connects travelers to wildlife, culture, and community in a way that’s meaningful, authentic, and unforgettable.

Meet Nelson
Director & Co-Founder
My name is Nelson ole Kirrokor and I come from the Maasai Mara in Kenya.
I grew up in a small village in the southern part of the country. After finishing high school, I was lucky to receive a scholarship to attend the Koyiaki Guiding School — a well-known training program that helps local people become professional safari guides.
Later, I continued my studies and earned a diploma in Tourism and Wildlife Management from Maasai Mara University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Management from Africa Nazarene University.
After working in the tourism industry for some time, I kept thinking about the support I had received during my education. Many people helped me along the way, and I wanted to give something back.
So I returned to my village and helped start a local community organization. Our goal is to support our community through education, healthcare, clean water projects, economic opportunities, and environmental conservation.
Today, a portion of the profits from our safari company goes directly toward these projects to help improve lives in our community.
Meet Jackson
Director & Co-Founder
I was born and raised in Kenya, and the wild has always felt like home to me.
From a young age, I spent time in the savannah and national parks learning how to track animals, understand nature, and respect the land. Over time, that passion turned into a mission — to share the beauty and magic of Kenya with people from all over the world.
Starting Oloip Masai Adventure Safaris wasn’t just about organizing trips. It was about creating meaningful experiences where travelers can truly connect with the land, the wildlife, and the people.
As Director, my goal is simple: to create authentic, responsible, and unforgettable adventures that benefit both our guests and our communities.
I’m personally involved in designing our tours and supporting the projects we run in local communities.
For me, this isn’t just a job — it’s something I deeply care about. When you travel with us, you’re not just visiting Kenya. You’re seeing it through the eyes of someone who lives here every day.
