The Big Five
This is the ultimate Kenyan adventure! Over 18 days, you’ll explore some of the country’s most iconic national parks — Amboseli, Laikipia, Samburu, Nakuru, and our home the Maasai Mara — for an unforgettable mix of wildlife, culture, and community experiences.
Day 1: We meet in Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, optional activities can include a visit to the Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park, or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Day 2: Today you travel to the home of the African elephant: Amboseli National Park. In the afternoon, a game drive awaits with incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 3: A full day of game drives in Amboseli. Look for the famous big tuskers, or spot other wildlife like lions, zebras, and cheetahs, with Kilimanjaro as your backdrop.
Day 4: Time for a change of scenery. You travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia. Depending on your time of arrival, you can enjoy an evening game drive here.
Day 5: Enjoy unique morning and evening game drives in the conservancy and spot rhinos, lions, and other species. Here you will also learn about local conservation efforts and how wildlife and communities coexist in this unique area.
Day 6: You travel to Samburu National Reserve, where upon arrival you can discover the unique wildlife found only in northern Kenya during an evening game drive.
Day 7: A full day of game drives in beautiful Samburu, with plenty of chances to spot Samburu’s Special Five.
Day 8: A new place awaits: Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival, you will go for a game drive to spot rhinos, flamingos, and other wildlife.
Day 9: A morning game drive in Nakuru, followed by a visit to Menengai Crater and optional stops at local coffee or tea farms.
Day 10: A short drive takes you to Lake Naivasha, where you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon boat safari, spotting hippos, birds, and other wildlife.
Day 11: Today you visit Hell’s Gate National Park, famous for its dramatic cliffs and landscapes that inspired scenes from The Lion King. You’ll explore the park on a bicycle safari, riding through the park while spotting zebras, buffalos, and other wildlife along the way.
Day 12: We drive to our home: the Maasai Mara. We arrive in the afternoon just in time for an evening game drive, where you can spot the Big Five.
Day 13: You arrive in the Mara at sunrise for a magical morning safari. After a relaxing afternoon in your accommodation, you go back for an evening game drive in the Mara.
Day 14: Visit our community and see some of the community projects your safari helps support, including projects for education, healthcare, and conservation initiatives in the Mara.
Day 15: This day is all about learning more about our culture! Learn about Maasai traditions, crafts, and daily life in the villages you visit. Optionally you can go for a walk in nature, learning more about how Maasai live with nature.
Day 16: Today is a full day of game drives in the Mara. Spot lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and other iconic wildlife. Optional activities include a hot air balloon, walking safari, and more.
Day 17: Travel back to Nairobi with stops along the way. Evening at leisure in the city.
Day 18: Depending on your flight time, you can explore Nairobi through a walking tour, a visit to the Giraffe Centre, or a game drive in Nairobi National Park. Then we will drop you off at the airport for your departure.
